  • What are your standard operating hours?
    Our standard hours are 9am to 6pm. Bookings outside these hours are subject to availability.
  • How do I confirm a booking?
    The first stage is to either fill in the Book form on this site or call us on 0141 429 3633. We will take all the information we need to get you booked in. Your booking is confirmed once full payment is received. Bookings must be paid in advance unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • What is included in my hire?
    Please look at our Studio Spec where you will see what is included in your hire. If you need any additional equipment let us know and we can arrange hire for you.
  • What insurance do I need?
    Clients must have public liability insurance of at least £1 million. Employers’ liability insurance is required if you have a crew on-site. Cove One Studios holds public liability insurance but is not responsible for client equipment or damages. If you hire equipment from Cove One Studios or one of our equipment hire partners you should have cover for equipment hire. If this is not something covered in your existing annual policy, day cover can be sourced from Performance Insurance.
  • Can I cancel or reschedule my booking?
    Cancellations require at least 7 days’ notice for a full refund. Fees apply for cancellations made within 7 days of the booking date. Cancellation 7 days or more prior to the photographic booking date: No charge Cancellation 6 days prior to the photographic booking date will result in a charge of 30% of the total cost, Cancellation 5 days prior to the photographic booking date will result in a charge of 40% of the total cost, Cancellation 4 days prior to the photographic booking date will result in a charge of 50% of the total cost, Cancellation 3 days prior to the photographic booking date will result in a charge of 60% of the total cost, Cancellation 2 days prior to the photographic booking date will result in a charge of 75% of the total cost, Cancellation 1 day prior to the photographic booking date will result in a charge of 100% of the total cost.
  • Do I need to include setup and pack-down time in my booking?
    Yes, setup and pack-down must be within your booked time. Access is allowed 15 minutes early, and you must vacate 30 minutes after your booking ends.
  • Is overtime charged if I overstay my booking?
    Yes, overtime is charged once you exceed the 30-minute load-out window. You’ll be charged in full-hour increments at our standard overtime rates. Arranged overtime is charged at £50 per hour ex VAT and un-arranged overtime is charged at £80 per hour ex VAT.
  • What size is the studio?
    Our studio offers 1,600 sq ft of studio space. Our Infinity Cove Wall is 8.5m long x 5.5m wide x 4m high.
  • Is the studio soundproof?
    No, the studio is not fully soundproof. We recommend conducting a site visit to assess acoustics before your booking.
  • Can I bring animals or children to the studio?
    Yes, but animals require prior notice (guide dogs are always welcome). Children under 18 must be supervised by a responsible adult.
  • What are the rules for using the cyclorama?
    Jumping, skateboarding, or resting equipment on the curved edges is not allowed. Any damage to the cyclorama will be charged to the client.
  • Is parking available on-site?
    Yes, on-street parking and drive-in access are available. The areas around the studio can get quote busy so please check out our Find Us page for more info on alternative options.
  • Do you provide equipment rental?
    Yes, we offer equipment rental. We have a base lighting kit available for hire and we have relationships with a number of hire houses across Glasgow to make sure we can help you get the kit you need for your shoot. If you hire equipment from Cove One Studios or one of our equipment hire partners you should have cover for equipment hire. If this is not something covered in your existing annual policy, day cover can be sourced from Performance Insurance.
  • Can I use open flames or smoke machines in the studio?
    Yes, but only with prior approval. Please consult with us in advance if you plan to use open flames, fog machines, or pyrotechnics.
  • What happens if I leave items in the studio?
    Storage is permitted with prior approval but is at your own risk. We may charge for storing items if they prevent other clients from using the space.
  • Are additional charges applied for power usage?
    Yes, a power levy of £80 is applied if your lighting setup exceeds 5 KW, regardless of whether the equipment is ours or externally hired.
  • How do I report a problem with the studio?
    Inform a Cove One Studios representative at the start of your hire if you notice any issues. Failure to do so implies the studio is in acceptable condition.
